A Whirlwind of Weddings

Okay, I’ll admit it.  I haven’t blogged about a wedding since 2016, and there is no way I can go back and blog each individual wedding, but I still feel bad about not sharing all the gorgeous photos I’ve captured since then!  Weddings are so much fun, and although I don’t shoot as many as I used to (raising three busy boys takes precedence over weekends away) the weddings I do photograph have been absolutely fabulous.

And so, I want to jump back in with both feet.  Sharing some of my favorite wedding memories over the past couple years and a little bit about each couple.  It’s also fun to go back and look at all of the photos and remember all the love that was shared and the fun that was had!

CHAD + MANDI   |   JANUARY 29, 2017
I used to do destination weddings all the time.  In 2008 (prior to having kids, mind you) I traveled across the country EIGHT times, including Florida, Mexico, and Arizona.  So when Mandi contacted me about doing a destination wedding in Beaver Creek, Colorado at a gorgeous mountain resort, I jumped at the chance to travel again!  It was exactly how you would picture a gorgeous Colorado wedding, complete with snow capped mountains and evergreens!

MOLLY + JUSTIN   |   JULY 1, 2017
July weather can be unpredictable.  Clouds and rain loomed all morning and there was fear of a stormy and rainy wedding day.  But when Molly and Justin exited the church after they said their vows, they were greeted with a bright blue sky as the clouds parted and revealed the most lovely day!  It was meant to be!

If you could squeeze your wedding during the last bits of fall, this was it!  A windy October day didn’t stop us from capturing some incredible shots under the open prairie on Courtney and Nathan’s wedding day!

KAYLA + BEN   |   NOVEMBER 18, 2017
Winter weddings can be cold but they also can be very beautiful!  Kayla and Ben braved the sharp winds as we ventured to Island Park in Fargo, ND for some outdoor shots before their ceremony.

When Kristin mentioned they were hoping we could get a shot in front of the historic downtown Fargo sign, I was all for it!  Luckily traffic was slow so I was able to run out into the street and snap a few photos before running back to our warm cars (another cold wedding day–this MN girl is used to it though!)

GUY + ALYSSA   |   APRIL 21, 2018
I always enjoy photographing clients from my hometown!  I grew up with Guy a couple grades younger than me in school, and I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding in Grand Forks on a lovely spring day!

DANIELLE + SAM   |   AUGUST 18, 2018
Outdoor weddings and receptions are perfect when the weather is–and that was exactly the case for Danielle and Sam’s beautiful August afternoon wedding in the woods just outside of Fordville, ND.

If you’re going to have a December wedding, a sunset with frosty trees is exactly the kind of scene you want, and it’s exactly what Whitney and Bret got!  It was a great way to wrap up the last wedding of the season.

WHEW!  So, there you have it… a whirlwind of some of my favorite weddings over the past couple years…. now, moving forward, I hope to update more than once every two years!  If you’re interested in booking me for a wedding please reach out by clicking the contact form above.  I’d love to work with you for your special day!
