Tyler and Kelsey were great sports! This could be on record as the coldest–and fastest–photo session I’ve done yet! The sun came out but so did the wind, so the three of us made the best of the icy blasts and ventured our way around the block, ducking into little corners to warm up and of course snapping photos as fast as my frozen fingers could. Even with “fingerless gloves” to help a little, it still was a bit stiff to push down the shutter! Luckily I managed to get tons of great shots of these two and you’d never be able to tell how cold it was from the photos. Soon we’ll be seeing each other again at their wedding in a couple weeks. Yes you heard that right–I snuck in ONE MORE wedding!

Shane and Jenn’s Engagement Session
It’s been awhile since I’ve shot an engagement session, and this one was lots of fun, with LOTS of color! We met downtown and did the rounds to the usual hot spots which are becoming quite familiar with other local photographers I’m sure, as we saw two other sessions going on at the same time! There are just so many great locations and photo opportunities in this block it’s hard to pass up. Here are my favorites of Shane and Jenn!

Scott, Amy, Feller and Berkley!
It’s a busy blog day for sure! This time I met up with Scott and Amy along with their four-legged friends Feller and Berkley at Lake Bronson for a fun ‘backwards’ engagement session! Scott and Amy have actually been married for over a year but wanted to get some casual pictures together. Again the day was absolutely gorgeous–but as soon as I left the session it started pouring. Good timing for sure! The dogs wouldn’t have cared either way, they loved getting wet and running into the lake for a swim, even Scott and Amy got in at the last minute!

Brad and Lindsay’s Engagement Session
I love finding new spots to take pictures–this is no surprise! I originally met up with Brad and Lindsay at University Park and did a few shots and then Lindsay mentioned she thought it might be neat to do some pictures over at the Myra Museum. It ended up being the perfect place, especially for the time of day. We had mid-morning sun and the museum hadn’t officially opened yet so we kind of wandered around to all the great old restored buildings with the fabulous textures. My favorite though had to be the Campbell House, it reminded me of something out of Anne of Green Gables!

Luke and Britta’s Engagement Session
The first time I tried to schedule engagement pictures with Luke and Britta, we thought about winter shots in the snow, but it was too cold, and when it finally got warm enough and our schedules matched, the snow melted, but everything was all brown. It ended up working out in the end, because when we finally got together, everything was green and the weather was gorgeous! You will recognize the little farmyard from the previous post, as it was Britta who recommended it for pictures. After that we headed into Lancaster where the couple reside, and got some fun shots around town!

Brett and Rachel’s Engagement Session
I shot Brett and Rachel’s session all over town but we made it to the swings just in time for some gorgeous evening sun flare! The abandoned playground at the old school is definitely one of my favorite local spots to shoot. Those of you who live around here might even recognize some other little nooks and crannies! We had fun exploring and finding new places for pictures!
Lake Bronson Sessions: Jena and Jon
Seriously, I couldn’t have picked a better “rain day re-schedule” day than this one! It was absolutely gorgeous and the skies only got bluer throughout the afternoon. My next session at the park was an engagement session with Jena and Jon, and we ventured down to the dock to capture a fabulous reflection of clouds behind them! It was fun to play with the light a little more as it changed every few hours. I’ve never shot so many pictures in one location, but with the moving sun it kept things interesting!
Lake Bronson Sessions: Nancy and Jordan
It's never too late to get pictures as a couple–even after the engagement and wedding have passed by! Nancy and Jordan were married last summer and wanted some updated shots, just in time to get those early fall colors and possibly get some images for a Christmas card. The only mishap was Jordan getting stung by a bee in the parking lot! Luckily, he was just fine, but still–Ouch!
Marc, Veronica and Javier
You may have noticed I’ve been away the past few days, but that’s because I’ve been photographing almost nonstop since Thursday! I had a full day of sessions on Pelican Lake, a wedding on Friday in Moorhead, a family session in Kennedy, and a senior session and wedding reception in Thief River Falls on Saturday….yikes! I’m finally home for a little bit now so I have some time to catch up and get a few BLOGS going. I’ve got so many pictures to share! Let’s start where I left off… Marc and Veronica are engaged to be married next spring so we met up at the University of North Dakota Spiritual Center, where their wedding will be taking place. Veronica’s son Javier joined in and we had fun exploring the area and getting some great shots. It was my first time shooting here so it will be neat to go back again when they get married!
Krystal and Ryan’s Engagement Session
Ryan and Krystal decided to do a last minute engagement session around Mesa, Arizona the day before their wedding… just in time! We had gorgeous evening light and of course I loved taking advantage of the desert landscape. We also headed over to Starbucks because that's where they first met! Ryan's son Ethan joined in for a few shots, too. Stay tuned for their wedding pictures soon!
