I think Kylan is right up there with one of the easiest one-year-olds I’ve had the pleasure of photographing–he literally SMILED the whole time! No coaxing needed, he was as happy as can be and looked right at the camera for all his shots. We ventured around the farm (another session at West Wind!) in the golf cart and had a great time. Here are just some of my favorites. His mom and dad will have a tough time deciding because he is smiling in pretty much every picture in their album, too! What a cutie!

Emma and Ethan
This is my second session with Emma and Ethan… hard to believe another year has gone by! They had another lovely evening for pictures except for one thing–the mosquitoes! I actually had to photoshop some of those pesky bugs out of the pictures! They were great sports, though, and thankfully we were armed with enough bug spray to keep them somewhat under control. You may remember how high Ethan flew last year–he did it again this time, too!
Presley, Paige, and Marshall
Can you believe this is my fifth year photographing this family? Not only does it remind me of how long I’ve been in business, but I just love yearly family photos. Check out last year’s session here. It’s fun to see how much taller the kids grow and also to think of different unique spots to take pictures! This time we opted for Nathan’s grandparents farmyard. We discovered the back side of the old barn had some great red wood, and the grassy trails amongst the oak trees were a perfect backdrop. This time they even brought the family dog! Here are some of my favorites!
Brynn, Six Months
How is it possible that little Brynn is already half a year old? I was still pregnant with Wesley the last time I saw her, so I guess it makes sense in that regard! She’s just a doll with the most perfect rosebud lips. We met up at University Park (a rare occasion these days with my travel cut back) but it was good to see them again and shoot in that pretty location for the first time in a long time! Here are some of my favorites.. she was so tuckered out she fell asleep right at the end of the session!
Grace, Charlie, and Rose
It’s been almost two years since my last session with these guys… and they’ve grown! Little Rose was welcomed into the family and they sure do love her lots! They were kind enough to make the trip from Fargo and met up with me in Hallock. I thought it would be fun to do a couple “urban” shots near the grain elevator across the street before we headed out to my parent’s farm. I love finding new areas to shoot, and it’s fun to find something so close. It was right across the street from our meeting place! Here are a few of my MANY favorites!
The Suda Family!
What a fun bunch! Zach, Emma, Ethan, Bella, and Alivia (along with Mom and Dad, too!) were a blast to photograph, and definitely made my job easy! The kids were naturals at posing, and I loved the coordinating colors they chose for outfits. The blues really popped, especially with the semi-overcast day. We used some fun farm buildings as backdrops, too. Just goes to show you can make so many unusual places look cool in a photograph!
Sydney and Noah
Another fun session with Sydney and Noah! This time we went to a new location and got a ton of green backgrounds and color. I loved all the huge trees! Noah is growing fast, too–he’s already a year old! Sydney is as spunky as ever and gave me lots of cute poses and showed off her cute skirts. It’s always an honor to capture families as they grow, and I’ve had a lot of fun photographing this family over the years!
Gracie, Eyan, Lauryn, and Camryn
It’s been about a year since my last session with this family–little Camryn was just a newborn and now she’s walking (and running) all over the place! Definitely hard to keep her in one spot long enough to take a picture, but lots of fun! We met up at Lake Bronson State Park for a windy afternoon session. Luckily this made it a lot easier to deal with the bugs that had been plaguing the area for the past few weeks! It was also a cooler day, but that didn’t stop the kids from getting in their swim suits and jumping in the water!
Isabelle and Lucy
This is my third summer photographing these two sweeties–and they keep getting sweeter! Isa and Lucy came out to West Wind farm (our session last time was downtown Grand Forks) so we had fun with some different country backgrounds including in the trees, around the red barn, and the “open road”! We also did some special pictures with a quilt and an old picture of the girls’ Grandma Jane who had recently passed away. This was the last quilt she made so it meant a lot to them, and it made for a gorgeous background, too!
Wyatt, Warner, and Karjmella
This had to be one of the fastest sessions I’ve ever done, with still the most amount of awesome photos as a result! When we started the session there were dark looming clouds that were literally about to pour down any second. We rushed around to different spots on the farm to make sure we at least got a few family photos just in case we were rained out, and the kids cooperated so well, which totally helped! By the time we got to the barn, the sprinkles had started, and then we had to make a RUN for it back to the house as the rain started! Luckily we had most of the shots by then, so we just did a few fun ones in the rain under the back porch roof. Check ‘em out!
