Photography by Megan Sneak Peek Blog! bio picture

Welcome to my blog!  See the cute little guy on the right?  That's my baby boy, Wesley Nathan, and he's four months old.  He keeps his mama pretty busy--so busy in fact, that she's had to slow down her workload a bit in order to soak up as much time with him as she can while he's little!

Right now I'm not taking any additional new clients until later this winter, so my apologies for anyone who I've missed!  I appreciate everyone who has been so understanding and flexible at this time!  Keep checking back for updated availability, and of course, all the latest blog posts.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ian

Ian is my husband’s cousin, so it was fun to see him again all grown up and ready for his senior pictures!  We met out at Nathan’s grandparent’s farm again (which of course just so happens to be Ian’s grandparent’s farm too) so it was the perfect location–we even used the airplane hangar!  We were literally racing the rain clouds and running away from mosquitoes the entire time, but you’d never be able to tell from these shots.  Ian did great and we were done just in time–the rain drops started to fall after I snapped the last picture!

Ashley

It was a gorgeous evening (just a little windy!) for my session with Ashley.  We met up in Hallock and did a few shots by the old elevator, and then headed out to my husband’s grandparents farm.  I loved all her colorful fun outfits!  We utilized a lot of the great old buildings around the farm, including the white house and the grain bins.  And of course that pretty evening light coming through the trees at just the right angle!  Here are my favs!

Kaitlyn

Way back in 2002, I had a job at the Fargo YMCA as a school age leader working with kids all summer long.  One of those kids was Kaitlyn, and to my surprise, (well not so much of a surprise these days with Facebook!) we found each other on the site a few months back, and she asked if I could shoot her senior pictures.  Considering the last time I saw her she was only in about third grade, I was so excited to meet up with her again and see how much she had “grown up”.   She has turned into a beautiful young woman and we had so much fun looking for spots to take pictures, and her dad even brought along his classic car to use in a few.  It was fun to catch up–here are my favorites!

Tiffany’s Senior Session

We actually rescheduled this session due to weather but the reschedule date ended up not much better, with chilly winds and the threat of rain!  Still, Tiffany was a trooper and we found some great spots (out of the wind!) to take her senior pictures.  I again found some great locations in Lancaster, and then we headed out to the woods near the river with some of the last fall colors of the year.  Here are just some of my favs!

Kalli’s Senior Session

Kalli is a true farm girl at heart, and her session definitely reflected that!  We shot pictures in one of the last wheat fields left in Kittson County, and then headed back to the yard where she posed with cats, dogs, pigs, horses–and we would have done some with the chickens and the cow, too, but they weren’t cooperating!  We also found an awesome old shed with fabulous light filtering through the cracks in the boards.  This was also a fun session for me because I also go way back with Kalli when I used to babysit her when she was just about three or four years old!  Time flies!!

Vanessa’s Senior Session

This young lady is actually my cousin, so it’s incredibly hard for me to believe she’s a SENIOR since I spent most of my teen years babysitting her and her siblings when they were just babies!  I think some of my first attempts at photography with my old film point-and-shoot were of her so it was only fitting that I shoot these pictures of her all grown up!  We headed to downtown Fargo and explored a couple back alleys that ended up with so many fabulous spots for pictures.  It was fun to shoot in a different city, this time, too!  Here are just some of my MANY favorites!

The Diamond Family/Megan’s Senior Session!

You’d never guess from the photos, but we had to seriously battle the mosquitoes on this muggy summer evening!  Everyone had to douse in repellent just to make it from the woods to the meadow, luckily the only place we were relieved was out on the highway with a little more breeze.  Still, everyone was a great sport and we had lots of fun!  The session was also split with Megan’s senior pictures and we did them out at Grandma and Grandpa’s cabin by the river, and included the vintage Mustang.  It’s a gorgeous spot with LOTS of green, and the light was perfect!

Kim

I’ve said it before: I LOVE small towns.  I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by them, and finding interesting spots to take photos is literally around every corner.  This time, I headed to nearby Lancaster, a little town with a population of about 350 people, and one of them just happens to be Kim!  She was all set for a FUN, laid back senior session in the outdoors as we explored the streets and alleys in the early spring air.  From the old phone booth to the railroad tracks, Kim (along with Karrah, who ‘jumped’ in on a few shots, too) we had a blast shooting pictures, and even got a little muddy at the end too!

Carly’s Senior Session

First off–a huge THANK YOU to all of the kind words and thoughts about our beloved dog, Buddy!  I appreciate all the notes and e-mails and messages.  Nathan does, too!

Secondly, I have to apologize to all my patient and waiting clients as with all that has been going on lately in our household (and how busy it’s been this season!) I’ve been delayed in getting blogs and galleries finished and online.  I am also way behind on e-mails so if you’ve sent me one in the last week I promise I haven’t forgotten about you!  It will just take some time for me to sort through everything.  I sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding!

Carly has been excited to see her photos since the day we shot them and I don’t blame her!  She is absolutely gorgeous and was a joy to photograph.  I have a few to share now and maybe I’ll add one or two more tomorrow if I get a chance.  Here’s a peek!

Erin’s Senior Session

Erin is a perfect example of how to have fun with last year's prom dress!  I mean, how often can you wear it again to go swinging at the park and sit on the cement in front of the closed-for-the-season swimming pool building?  She was up for anything and we had a lot of fun.  It was also neat that she is the yearbook editor and brought along one to use in a shot, and then showed me a couple of seniors from her school I photographed last year who used my pictures in the yearbook… I guess after all these years I'm still honored to be published in any form!
