So what does an on-location, natural light photographer do when it’s smack dab in the middle of winter, thirty below zero, and fresh ideas are far and few between? I’ve been eying the spot out in our new shop addition for awhile now, and realized with the amazingly high ceilings and natural light coming in from the windows on all sides that it could serve as a perfect “studio” for days such as this. Sometimes client’s homes are a bit too small or dark, and other times they are just looking for a new and different place to shoot, especially if I’ve done their photos several times in the same location.
While we’ve still got a couple more months of winter ahead (and inevitably, winters to come every year for the rest of our lives here in frozen Minnesota!) I figured it was the perfect time to start shooting in this fabulous space! I’ve been collecting a few ideas and starting out small with just a simple backdrop. Eventually I hope to expand my options to include different colors and textures, with props to enhance the pictures and just make things more FUN! This would be a perfect rainy day place to shoot as well, so I’ll be keeping it available for year round shooting. Anyway–enough said! The pictures from my very first “official” session with Fallon and Tyden speak for themselves!
